Washburn County Historical Society
The board meets the third Thursday of each month March through October. The Society co-publishes a quarterly newsletter and has published an extensive collection of historical information in four volumes, and work on a fifth volume is in progress. Birchwood Historical Society
Operates The Log Museum which houses a collection of articles used by the early logging industry, and the Howard Morey Homestead in Birchwood which is being restored to represent a typical family dwelling of the early-1900s. Meeting times vary. Citizens Center. Contact: Arlene Forward, 354-7300.

Stone Lake Area Historical Society
Operates the Stone Lake Area Historical Museum. Meets at 6 p.m. the fourth Thursday in April through October at the Stone Lake Town Hall. Contact: Rosemarie Bradley, 865-3331.

Washburn County Genealogical Society
